What You'll Do
In this role, you’ll provide essential support to patients, families, and staff at an outpatient facility in Uniondale. You’ll greet visitors with warmth and professionalism, helping them feel at ease during their visit. You’ll guide individuals to their destinations, respond to general inquiries, and assist with mobility needs, including wheelchair retrieval and transport.
You’ll regularly check in with front valet staff to ensure equipment is available and assist as needed. In the chemo infusion area, you’ll offer comfort by providing blankets, refreshments, or simply being a calm, reassuring presence. Your flexibility will be key—assignments may shift based on daily needs, as directed by the Volunteer Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Able to commit to the same 3-hour shift each week for a minimum of six months
- Former or current patients must be out of active treatment for at least one year
- Demonstrated ability to engage kindly and respectfully with individuals facing health challenges
- Reliable attendance and proactive attitude required
- Willingness to support different areas based on daily operational needs

Work Mode
This is an onsite role located at 1101 Hempstead Turnpike, Uniondale, NY 11553. Available shifts are Wednesday 9AM–12PM, Thursday 9AM–12PM, or Friday 3PM–6PM. Applicants must specify all shifts they can commit to when applying.
