We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer to join our team on an onshore oil and gas development project. The successful candidate will provide technical support, oversee on-site operations, ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards, and serve as the primary technical liaison between the project management team and field crews.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical supervision and engineering support for drilling, completion, production, or construction activities (specify as needed, e.g., pipeline installation, well pad construction).
- Monitor and track field progress against the project schedule and budget, reporting deviations to the Project Manager.
- Interpret and implement engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures on the job site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure all work meets engineering specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of field activities, including daily reports, equipment logs, and inspection results.
- Manage and track all change orders and Requests for Information (RFIs) originating from the field.
- Act as the first point of contact for resolving technical issues, design conflicts, and construction challenges encountered in the field.
- Collaborate with design engineers and contractors to develop and implement timely and effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture and ensure all personnel and subcontractors adhere strictly to project HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings (JSA/JHA) and participate in site safety audits.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards and environmental risks associated with site operations.
- Liaise effectively with project managers, client representatives, contractors, vendors, and regulatory officials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of [3-5] years of experience as a Field Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar role, specifically within onshore oil and gas or heavy civil/industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of onshore drilling, production, or construction processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering documents (P&IDs, site plans, isometric drawings).
- Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or challenging field environment for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various field locations.
