The Nutrition Assistant plays a key role in advancing nutrition services at both facility and community levels. Working within primary and secondary healthcare systems, this position ensures the smooth implementation of preventive and therapeutic nutrition programs across targeted regions in South Sudan.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the project and local communities to foster trust and collaboration
- Guide facility-based teams and internal units to uphold high standards in service delivery
- Train and mentor Community Nutrition Volunteers, support staff, and Mother-to-Mother Support Groups to enhance local capacity
- Support recruitment processes for community-level personnel, including support staff and volunteer teams
- Track and document weekly and monthly supply usage to ensure accountability
- Prepare and submit OTP, TSFP, and CNV reports regularly for monitoring and analysis
- Keep updated beneficiary registers for OTP and TSFP programs
- Document session-level data and maintain accurate records
- Oversee community feedback systems and report concerns related to nutrition initiatives
- Identify and escalate operational or programmatic issues affecting nutrition activities
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based in South Sudan, requiring regular field visits and close coordination with health workers and community networks. The role operates within a structured health system framework, emphasizing data accuracy, inclusivity, and responsive service delivery.
