Amref Health Africa is the largest health development non-governmental international organisation based in Africa, committed to improving health and health care. The organisation focuses on creating lasting health change across the continent by strengthening community-led and people-centered health systems.
It addresses social determinants of health and advocates for equitable access to healthcare, including initiatives such as ending vaccine injustice in Africa. Amref works in partnership with Ministries of Health and other stakeholders to respond to public health challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Mpox.
