Inventive Food Technology (IFF) is hiring a New Business Development Manager

About the Role

Danisco USA Inc. is looking for a New Business Development Manager to drive growth in the nutraceutical market. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets, building a robust pipeline, and establishing strong customer relationships while collaborating cross-functionally to support strategic business development plans.

What You'll Do

  • Lead efforts to identify, engage, and grow target accounts in the nutraceutical market, achieving annual sales targets.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers across customer functions.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge across the full product range and convey technical/scientific data to diverse audiences.
  • Coordinate internal teams (Technical Service, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Customer Service) to support customer activities.
  • Translate regional business objectives into actionable plans, resolve sales cycle barriers, and lead preparation for customer meetings.
  • Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI/SPINS), contributing insights to innovation pipelines.
  • Develop and negotiate sales contracts, document opportunities and meeting reports in Salesforce, and ensure pipeline visibility.
  • Collaborate with marketing on concept development, co-marketing initiatives, and support internal product launches.
  • Participate in performance management activities, regional sales meetings, and external industry events.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience driving growth in new business development within the nutraceutical space.
  • Proven success with turnkey finished formats, probiotics, and specialty health ingredients.
  • Strong network of relationships across key U.S. markets.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders across technical, commercial, and operational functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, build and manage a high-value sales pipeline, and consistently meet or exceed targets.
  • Skilled in conceptual selling and navigating complex sales cycles.
  • Adept at cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, customer-focused, and results-driven.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Specialization in microbiology or nutrition.
  • Experience working in a large matrix organization with exposure to cross-functional teams and global business dynamics.
  • Familiarity with CPG syndicated data tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, SPINS) and their application in market analysis.
