Co-operators is looking for a National Portfolio Manager - Commercial to oversee the performance of the commercial portfolio, utilizing data analytics to drive strategic decision-making. In this role, you will provide technical direction for product wordings, guidelines, endorsements, and pricing, while working closely with the product team to apply business rules and underwriting guidelines effectively.
What You'll Do
- Apply data analytics and optimization to drive portfolio performance, ensuring effective loss prevention and compliance, while developing action plans for profitability and growth.
- Provide direction for projects and manage multiple business initiatives, tasks, and analysis with key stakeholders.
- Formulate business rules, underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and portfolio philosophies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on product pricing and deviations, developing portfolio initiatives, enforcing best practices, and ensuring gaps are managed.
- Remain informed of industry trends impacting national and international insurance markets, track competitors and emerging client needs, and identify enhanced product offerings.
What We're Looking For
- 10 years of experience in a product, analysis, or insurance environment.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, or Statistics.
- Working knowledge of the Commercial product model, tools and systems, related markets, and external influences impacting products.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- French language skills are an asset.
- You have or are working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS), or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation(s).
