About the Role

Illumina, Inc. is hiring a Multiomics Sales Specialist to drive revenue growth in Germany by promoting our comprehensive suite of multiomics products and services. You will target academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and healthcare organizations, focusing on strategic planning, customer education, and business development in specialties like proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, or single cell analysis.

What You'll Do

  • Own and deliver the multiomics commercial sales budget for Germany.
  • Develop and implement a strategic four-year plan for the multiomics business, including new sectors and Large National Genomic Initiatives.
  • Expand and nurture the network of service providers for newly launched multiomics products.
  • Educate the commercial team on the value propositions of multiomics.
  • Partner with multiomics companies that use Illumina NGS for read out.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing expert guidance on multiomics and pharmacomultiomics to achieve scientific objectives.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends to shape sales strategies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product management, medical affairs, and service to develop KOLs and meet budgets.
  • Identify, approach, and assess new business opportunities, cultivate prospects, and build relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Conduct comprehensive product presentations and consultative discussions.
  • Represent Illumina at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Maintain accurate records on SFDC.
  • May train and mentor colleagues.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in multiomics—genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, and/or proteomics.
  • Specialization in either proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, or single cell analysis.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven mindset with a passion for omics technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, articulate value propositions, and drive sales engagements.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany as needed, with an average of 80% travel required.
  • Fluency in business English and German.

  • PhD in life sciences, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or a related field.
