Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is looking for an MSL Field Director to lead a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) within Dermatology Medical Affairs. In this role, you will plan, direct, and coordinate the team's activities to achieve scientific and business objectives within a designated geographic region. You will provide strategic leadership, coaching, and mentorship while managing budgets and ensuring organizational goals are met.
What You’ll Do
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to MSLs, including conducting annual performance reviews and supporting growth and succession planning.
- Ensure appropriate communication and interaction between the MSL team and the field sales organization, adhering to compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with field-medical partners in Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Medical Value and Access, and Site Management and Monitoring teams.
- Equip MSLs with the necessary tools, training, and materials to perform their roles effectively.
- Identify and partner on potential projects that enhance organizational impact and support the execution of therapeutic Medical Objectives.
- Ensure team compliance with all Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures, including database updates and customer interaction documentation.
- Manage all assigned activities within the approved budget.
What We’re Looking For
- An advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, PA, NP).
- 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership success in pharmaceutical field-based or related industry experience.
- Flexibility in adapting to changing market dynamics and competitive challenges.
- A strong team player with excellent internal and external networking skills.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and administrative capabilities.
- The ability to influence without direct authority.
- Demonstrated exceptional business judgment and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of personnel management, including recruitment, hiring, progressive discipline, coaching, and motivation.
Nice to Have
- A doctorate in a health science or clinical discipline is strongly preferred.
- More than 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Dermatology or Immunology.
Technical Stack
- Standard computer technologies and integrated business software (word processing, spreadsheets) and other common applications.
Team & Environment
You will lead MSLs within a designated geographic region. This role reports to the National Director and works cross-functionally within Medical Affairs.
