Kohl's is seeking a Mobile Operating Engineer to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of all building systems for assigned properties. You will be responsible for the hands-on upkeep of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
What You'll Do
- Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s).
- Maintain heating and cooling equipment including package rooftop units, split systems, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV, and air distribution systems.
- Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, valves, thermostats, and diffusers.
- Verify field conditions and perform any necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Monitor Energy Management systems.
- Repair doors, ceilings, hand railings, floors, and perform other general repairs and installations.
- Perform repairs to plumbing fixtures such as water closets, urinals, and lavatories.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties including changing filters, cleaning coils, flushing condensers, greasing bearings, inspecting belts, and performing annual inspections.
- Inspect engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, motors, pumps, electric rooms, back-up generators, and fire pumps.
- Check for properly operating emergency exit signs and lights and ensure clear access to emergency exits.
- Document and report activities to supervisor.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and customer concerns.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
- Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled.
- Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain a neat appearance.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 5+ years of related work experience in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
- Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician License, Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness, High Pressure Boiler License).
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record with periodic checks.
- Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word.
- Experience in operation, maintenance and basic repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, and water systems.
- Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques and operations.
- Thorough knowledge in all building systems operations, maintenance and repair.
- Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel between properties in varying weather conditions.
Nice to Have
- Graduate of apprentice program or trade school.
- Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s depending on market licensure requirements.
Team & Environment
You may be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts.
