Convey (formerly Message Broadcast) seeks an experienced Middle-Market Sales Executive to drive revenue growth by prospecting and closing new business within the utility/energy sector. You will take a consultative approach, building custom solutions by collaborating with internal teams and managing long-term client relationships across North America.
What You'll Do
- Drive Revenue Growth: Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
- Lead Generation: Prospect and generate leads within greenfield accounts using networking, industry events, cold calling, and leveraging existing industry relationships.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop trusted relationships across all levels and teams in accounts, including C-level executives and decision-makers.
- Product Representation: Represent the entire range of company products and services. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to customer needs.
- Solution Selling: Understand market and client needs and collaborate with internal technology and product teams to build the optimum solution for customers.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements to close deals while maximizing profitability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, and Account Management to ensure customer satisfaction and successful solution implementation.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of new, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities. Maintain sales contacts, prospects pipeline, and forecast information in Salesforce.com.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years working in B2B SaaS sales roles with Middle-Market customers.
- Deep understanding of the utilities and energy industry, including market trends, challenges, and unique regulatory environments.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with senior-level executives.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong negotiating, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable in a field that combines elements of multiple disciplines (technology, marketing, etc.).
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events (35-50% travel could be required at various times of the year).
Nice to Have
- Experience selling into the utility/energy sector.
- An MBA is a plus.
