Join Siemens Healthineers as a Medical Dosimetrist and play a key role on our AOS Dosimetry team. You will leverage your clinical expertise to develop optimal radiation therapy plans, collaborating directly with radiation oncologists to deliver precise, prescribed doses while sparing critical patient structures in a fully remote capacity.
What You'll Do
- Design treatment plans via computer and/or manual computation with optimal beam geometry to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures.
- Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures using images from one or more data sets.
- Demonstrate proficiency in image registration with various data sets including CT, MRI, and PET.
- Create and transfer reference images and localization markers for portal verification and treatment delivery, such as DRRs and CBCTs.
- Supervise, perform, or assist in simulations, tumor localization, and the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices.
- Supervise, perform, or assist in the production of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices.
- Communicate with radiation therapists and advise on the implementation of treatment plans, including the correct use of devices and treatment parameters.
- Perform dose delivery calculations, document all pertinent information in patient records, and verify the mathematical accuracy of all calculations.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with Eclipse treatment planning software.
- Board Certified by the MDCB.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety.
- Expertise in the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to develop optimal treatment plans.
- Knowledge of health care informatics, including resources and methods to acquire, store, and retrieve data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate information exchange with patients, families, and the treatment team.
- Must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites and meet all ongoing Vendor Credentialing requirements.
