As a Registered Counsellor, you will provide focused, short-term psychological support to individuals through secure online sessions. Operating within a stepped care model, your role centers on helping members build practical self-management skills and move toward measurable mental health goals. You'll conduct up to six therapy sessions daily, ensuring each interaction is grounded in cultural safety, inclusivity, and clinical best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver solution-oriented counselling to adults from varied cultural and social backgrounds.
- Develop and implement individualised care strategies in collaboration with members and other health professionals.
- Maintain detailed, confidential case documentation in line with professional standards.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision and quality improvement activities to support ongoing professional development.
- Escalate complex cases appropriately within multidisciplinary support networks.
Qualifications and Experience
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling from Australia or New Zealand and are currently registered with NZAC. You bring at least three years of experience in one-on-one adult therapy, with a strong foundation in evidence-based approaches. Your training includes a minimum of 400 hours of instruction and 140 hours of delivered therapy, including 40 hours of recorded sessions completed during placement. You are skilled in assessment, treatment planning, and working effectively within team-based care models.
