Vera Whole Health is seeking a Medical Biller to join our Operations team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for ensuring claims and billing are completed accurately and efficiently to optimize revenue generation.

What You'll Do

Act as a Billing Subject Matter Expert to support Revenue Cycle Activities and other departments.
Assist with designing and implementing billing Policies and Procedures.
Review negative AR trends or inefficient processes and collaborate with leadership and partner teams to address root causes.
Assist with EFT enrollment processes.
Support insurance and patient calls regarding payment, billing questions, and account corrections.
Ensure clean claims are sent to insurance carriers in a timely manner from the Practice Management system.
Monitor claims for missing or incorrect information.
Resolve responses from insurance carriers promptly to optimize revenue generation and cash flow, including posting denials and working rejected claims.
Secure needed medical documentation requested by insurance.
Process inappropriately paid accounts by contacting payers, rebilling, working denials, and conducting appeals.
Process and post insurance and patient payments accurately for account reconciliation.
Work credit balance reports to identify and refund insurance and patient overpayments.
Perform aged A/R account reconciliation, investigating unpaid balances.
Work directly with Regional Area Managers, Clinic Managers, and Finance to resolve patient billing concerns to satisfaction.
Handle special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or GED.
3-5 years of experience in medical billing with strong proficiency in CPT and ICD-10 codes.
Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Workers Comp insurance plans.
3+ years of experience with billing and collection practices and workflows.
Experience with EMR chart and code review.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
3-5 years of experience with MS Office 2010 or higher.
