LyondellBasell (LYB) is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of daily production unit operations at our Corpus Christi Complex. You will establish a vision for Operational Excellence and GoalZero performance while managing, training, and developing production staff.
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of the daily operation of production units within the Corpus Christi Complex.
- Establish a clear vision for Operational Excellence and GoalZero performance for personnel.
- Ensure production units are operated safely, consistently, cost-efficiently, and in an environmentally sound manner to achieve production, quality, and budget goals.
- Proactively seek continuous improvement in plant performance and utilize best practices.
- Provide leadership to ensure personnel operate within the Company’s Code of Conduct and Rules of Performance.
- Serve as an essential member of the site leadership team, working with Maintenance, Reliability, HSE, and Technical Managers to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide direction and collaboration to Training and Organizational Development efforts.
- Manage the safe operation of Plant process areas and work with maintenance to meet production, reliability, and quality requirements.
- Translate and integrate Company strategies into objectives and action plans.
- Inspire and coach to optimize performance of people and processes; develop and coach people via dialogue.
- Conduct workplace meetings to share business information, metrics, and strategies.
- Develop and monitor unit performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Accountable for compliance with all Company, local, state, and federal agency requirements.
- Participate in, develop, and implement strategic initiatives with other site staff managers.
- Define and achieve operational and maintenance strategies/goals for their unit(s).
- Prepare and be accountable for capital and general operating budgets.
- Work with the commercial organization to optimize the site for maximum benefit.
What We're Looking For
- B.S. Degree in Engineering with ten or more (10+) years of chemical plant or refinery operations experience, or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability gained through prior management and/or supervisory assignments.
- Sound working knowledge of company policies, plant operation and maintenance procedures, planning and scheduling, equipment reliability, SAP, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard business and financial metrics, budget processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, quality, and human resources.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to interface with all organizational levels.
- Possess a high level of integrity and respect to motivate, lead, engage, and develop their team.
- Possess strong strategic leadership skills and drive for results.
