What You'll Do
Take full ownership of Base’s operational performance in Houston, managing every stage from warehouse logistics to field execution. You’ll ensure installations are completed safely, on time, and to high technical standards while maintaining seamless coordination between local teams and central functions in Austin.
Establish and monitor key performance metrics across field and warehouse operations, using data to identify opportunities for improvement and scalability. Serve as the main point of contact for local authorities, utility partners, and inspectors, ensuring compliance and smooth project progression.
Lead field crews and warehouse staff with consistent on-site presence, setting clear expectations for safety, accountability, and quality. Develop scheduling and capacity plans to meet installation targets, while managing subcontractor relationships and workforce planning. Help refine operational playbooks as the market grows, ensuring processes evolve with volume and complexity.
Oversee inventory management, material flow, and warehouse efficiency—ensuring accurate stock levels, proper FIFO practices, and uninterrupted support for field teams. Recruit, train, and retain skilled personnel across both field and warehouse roles, fostering a culture rooted in ownership, direct communication, and mission focus.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in operations leadership, with direct experience managing both field service and warehouse or logistics teams
- Proven ability to lead multi-functional teams in fast-moving, high-growth environments
- Solid grasp of inventory control, material handling, and production or installation support workflows
- Experience using ERP or WMS platforms such as Odoo, SAP, or NetSuite, along with field service management software
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate independently in a remote market
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends, especially during peak periods or market expansion
- Must be located in or open to relocating to Houston, TX
- Willingness to spend time in Austin, TX during onboarding to learn company systems and operational models
Preferred Qualifications
Background in electrical systems, battery storage, solar, or skilled trades operations is highly valued. While you don’t need to be a licensed electrician, you must be capable of leading technical teams and understanding field-level challenges.
