What You'll Do
As Project HSE Manager, you will lead the development and execution of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) strategies for a new container terminal in Laldia, Chattogram. You will ensure all project activities meet or exceed local regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and international best practices. Your role is central to establishing one of the safest construction environments in Bangladesh.
You will act as the client’s primary HSE representative, working directly with engineering teams and multiple contractors. You will proactively identify risks, implement preventive controls, and drive continuous improvement in HSSE performance. A core part of your responsibility is fostering a culture where safety is a shared value, not just a procedure.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in HSE for large-scale construction or port infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of Bangladeshi regulations and international safety standards
- Experience developing, implementing, and auditing HSSE management systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage HSE compliance across complex, multi-contractor environments
- Leadership skills to influence teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Background in greenfield project development from construction through to operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in port or terminal operations
- Familiarity with corporate HSE frameworks used by global logistics or shipping organizations
- Work experience in Bangladesh or similar emerging markets
- Track record managing HSE for international contractor teams
