As Country Manager for the UAE, you will spearhead the launch and execution of a new market strategy centered on outbound remittances from Dubai to key international corridors. Your primary focus will be leveraging stablecoin infrastructure to improve speed, reduce costs, and scale cross-border payments.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive market-entry plan that aligns with the company’s cross-border corridor strategy, prioritizing high-volume remittance flows from the UAE.
- Identify and secure strategic partnerships that accelerate user adoption and streamline payment experiences, integrating stablecoin rails where operationally and economically advantageous.
- Turn strategic objectives into measurable outcomes—driving transaction volume and payment activity within the first 12 to 18 months.
- Serve as the primary liaison between local operations and executive leadership, ensuring product and operational development reflect on-the-ground market dynamics in Dubai.
- Oversee compliance execution in coordination with the Chief Compliance Officer, ensuring controls evolve with transaction growth and remain fully aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Maintain direct, credible engagement with VARA, supporting ongoing supervision and positioning the business for long-term regulatory success.
- Establish early credibility with UAE regulators, ideally drawing on prior experience or existing relationships that reduce operational risk during setup.
Requirements
- Must be currently based in the UAE.
- Proven track record leading market expansion efforts in fintech, payments, or remittances, with success in launching and scaling new business lines in the region.
- Deep understanding of cryptocurrency infrastructure, particularly the role of stablecoins in modernizing remittance economics.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into commercial growth and regulatory clarity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience interacting with UAE financial regulators, especially VARA, and the professional stature to represent the organization effectively in formal and informal settings.
