About the Role

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. (MEAU) is hiring a Manager, Global Industry Solutions focused on the Automotive Industry. In this role, you will drive the specification and sale of Factory Automation equipment for key automotive accounts, including end users, OEMs, and system integrators, while developing strategies to grow MEAU's business globally.

What You'll Do

  • Develop strategy for the defined automotive industry and penetrate targeted southern automotive industry accounts and major projects.
  • Initiate sales activity with top-level management in target accounts and coordinate a cross-functional sales team.
  • Engage as a key contributor on a globally coordinated team to drive automotive project specifications and support end user/OEM activity.
  • Become the subject matter expert (SME) for the selected industry and support OEM teams as needed.
  • Engage and coach an extended team of other resources, including MEAU sales personnel and distributors, to increase sales within key accounts.
  • Discover and validate total cost of ownership (TCO) differentiators within target accounts, creating discovery agreements and securing commitment.
  • Understand target market product trends and specifications and communicate requirements to Product and Solutions Marketing groups.
  • Recommend focused marketing activities for the target industry and accounts.
  • Manage partnerships with internal and external resources and leverage globalization to accomplish objectives.
  • Represent MEAU at important automotive industry activities and participate in industry specification activities.
  • Create data, budgets, and reports to support MEAU business, including monthly sales/marketing activity reports.
  • Review and analyze quarterly reports on industry trends, competition, and activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the defined automotive market (OEMs, End-Users, SIs, Consultants) with in-depth knowledge of application, manufacturing, and/or engineering processes.
  • 5+ years of experience selling Automation Solutions to senior-level accounts in the automotive market.
  • Significant network of contacts and the ability to network effectively within the defined market.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presence to deal effectively with senior-level contacts.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn MEAU products and recommend technical applications to meet customer needs.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Sales experience with some or all of the following: PLCs, HMIs, Industrial PCs, software, interfaces; Motion Control (Servo) and CNCs; VFDs (Inverters); Robots; Complimentary products/solutions.
  • Previous experience working in a Japanese business culture and/or with Japanese customers.

Nice to Have

  • MBA is desirable.
  • Sales Management experience is a plus.

Team & Environment

You will coordinate a cross-functional sales team and engage and coach an extended team of other resources, including MEAU sales personnel and distributors.
