About the Role

The Co-operators is looking for a Senior Manager, Term Insurance Pricing to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development, pricing, and product support for a portfolio of Individual Insurance products. Your work will directly influence our financial standing and involve close collaboration with our distribution channels.

What You'll Do

  • Manage team performance through the Elevate program, including planning, assessment, and review.
  • Provide strategic input and develop unit plans to support broader organizational goals.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to appropriate policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Resolve escalated issues, make informed decisions, and provide guidance to others.
  • Develop key pricing assumptions for expenses, lapses, mortality, interest, and sales mix.
  • Price and set profit expectations for term life, critical illness, disability insurance, and direct mail products.
  • Monitor industry trends and benchmarks to stay current with market competition.
  • Foster positive relationships by exchanging information and presenting ideas to internal and external clients.

What We're Looking For

  • Completion of the Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) designation.
  • At least 7 years of related, progressive experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with AXIS software and MS Office.
  • General management skills including planning, budgeting, scheduling, people management, and service delivery.
  • Investment knowledge.
