Recreation District #1 / Pelican Park is hiring a Maintenance Technician to lead a team responsible for the upkeep of our plant and pump stations. In this role, you will oversee the inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Review daily team requirements and oversee work assignments to ensure schedules are met.
- Monitor work assignments to ensure team members meet production and quality standards.
- Coach and train team members to increase skill levels and improve productivity, safety, quality, and processes.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues on a proactive basis.
- Prepare work orders and work-related reports, procurement requisitions, charts, graphs, and data submittals.
- Model safe work practices, provide leadership in achieving safety goals, and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Perform duties of Maintenance Tech III as required.
- Assist with maintaining parts, spares, and maintenance procurement and inventory.
- Assist in other areas of the plant as directed.
What We're Looking For
- Over five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment.
- Ability to comprehend complex specifications, blueprints, and manuals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Vocational training and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and train others.
- Ability to use computer programs for preparing work orders, reports, charts, graphs, and data submittals.
- Proficiency in and modeling the care and use of all site-specific PPE.
- Ability to perform all assigned tasks in an organized, accurate, and timely manner.
- Ability to efficiently maintain, install, and repair any equipment used in the facility.
- Ability to diagnose problems, troubleshoot mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment, and take corrective action.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and assume additional responsibilities.
- Minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory agencies at site.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Completion of Employee Orientation, Departmental Operating Procedures, Safety, OSHA, and Quality Training.
- HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) certification.
- Ability to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by site.
Nice to Have
- Commercial driver's license and heavy equipment operator license.
- Fabrication and welding experience.
- HVAC, Electrician, Plumber's, or other trade License if assigned to that area.
- Forklift Certification if required by site.
Team & Environment
You will lead an assigned team and report directly to a Supervisor.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position.
