The District Sales Manager is responsible for expanding market presence in the Austin, TX region by leading sales initiatives focused on residential and commercial pool builders. This role centers on strengthening relationships with key accounts, securing new builder partnerships, and ensuring existing dealers meet minimum booking thresholds of $2M annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel regularly across the assigned territory to engage directly with named builders and grow market share through existing and new dealer networks
- Collaborate with distributors to maintain optimal inventory levels and introduce new product lines effectively
- Design and execute targeted sales campaigns aligned with company objectives for builder market penetration
- Analyze sales performance and market trends to guide promotional strategies and forecast future demand
- Demonstrate product functionality using samples or catalogs, clearly communicating technical advantages over competitive offerings
- Attend trade shows and industry events to represent the brand and generate new business opportunities
- Coordinate cross-functionally with customer service, technical support, and engineering teams to ensure seamless customer experiences
- Manage territory budget, ensuring all expenses align with financial guidelines
- Develop and implement annual sales plans in coordination with regional leadership, focusing on strategic account growth and quota attainment
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to track customer interactions, manage the sales pipeline, and identify upsell opportunities
- Submit regular reports including monthly progress summaries, itineraries, call logs, and expense documentation
- Support the development of junior sales staff, including trainees and representatives, when needed
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by regional or executive leadership
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate a consistent record of success selling technically complex products. A strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with personal computers are required. A valid driver’s license is necessary due to frequent regional travel, including long-distance driving and occasional air travel. Minimum of three years of sales experience in the pool equipment sector is essential. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Preferred candidates will have knowledge of automated controls, basic electrical systems, plumbing hydraulics, or water chemistry. Familiarity with swimming pool equipment—particularly electronic chlorine generation and heating systems—is advantageous. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Salesforce CRM experience is expected.
Work Environment
This is a locally based role requiring presence in the Austin, TX area. Regular overnight travel within the territory is necessary to support customer and distributor needs.
