Alpha is looking for a Localization Program Manager to deliver a successful localization program that meets customer requirements. You will liaise between our customers, internal teams, and external vendors, managing a full team of project managers and linguists dedicated to a complex program within our warm, lively, and globally diverse firm.
What You'll Do
- Function as a business partner with external and internal stakeholders, representing the Project Management team.
- Work with other project managers to review and analyze existing projects and develop an optimal program portfolio.
- Engage in localization strategy, planning, and team coordination from an early stage.
- Lead discussions with all stakeholders and monitor scope analysis and budget estimates.
- Interface proactively with teams to recognize, mitigate, and resolve project risks and issues.
- Track high-level milestones and progress while managing the program budget.
- Provide assessments and quotes, identify and allocate resources, and address any resourcing conflicts.
- Monitor quality according to agreed parameters, drive language quality assurance activities, and resolve issues promptly.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with customers and provide regular status reports.
- Establish and coordinate communication among various production groups and effectively remove barriers.
- Implement and improve processes to optimize program effectiveness.
- Ensure clear and consistent information to set the right expectations from all stakeholders.
- Monitor program status, evaluate effectiveness, and implement changes as necessary.
- Support project teams by fostering cross-functional communication and collaboration.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to understand and meet the program budget.
- Ensure cost milestones are respected and check and approve internal and external spend.
- Manage the invoice cycle and provide leadership to promote positive, collaborative relationships.
- Assist in the execution of tasks to Project Managers.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of Project Management experience with at least 5 years within the localization industry.
- Experience managing distributed teams of project managers or linguists.
- Full understanding of localization production processes, scheduling, budgeting, and workflows.
- In-depth knowledge of localization processes and excellent computer skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced process-driven environment.
- Ability to interact successfully with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience working with diverse peoples and cultures across multiple time zones.
- Ability to facilitate productive relationships with all team members to successfully deliver marketing localization projects.
- Bachelor's degree in localization, linguistics, or a related discipline.
