The Child Advocacy and Protection Division is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Support Specialist to support legal operations in Salem. This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate handling of case materials related to child welfare services. The specialist will assist attorneys by managing case documentation, organizing records, and facilitating communication across agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and upload discovery materials, court reports, and hearing details into electronic case systems
- Monitor court dockets and track upcoming hearings
- Manage both digital and physical filing systems, ensuring case files are current and accessible
- Reach out to agency personnel, clients, and the public to gather essential case data
- Sort and distribute incoming correspondence and communications
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal and administrative documents
- Respond to information requests from stakeholders and visitors
- Maintain state-owned vehicles and oversee office supply inventory
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least one year of clerical experience involving document creation, typing, or office support. Alternatively, a combination of relevant education and training may be accepted. Applicants must hold a valid Oregon driver’s license and either currently be a commissioned Notary Public in Oregon or obtain commission within six months of hire.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate strong organizational abilities, accuracy in data handling, and experience with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with OJCIN and OECI systems, legal support roles, or public service settings is advantageous. The ideal candidate remains composed under pressure, respects confidentiality, and can engage with emotionally sensitive content.
