About the Role

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our civil engineering group in either Milwaukee, WI, or Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will lead the development of site design components for a wide range of projects in commercial, government, healthcare, and higher education sectors. You'll work closely with architects, planners, and engineers to deliver practical, code-compliant solutions that meet client goals and project constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop site layouts, grading plans, utility systems, and stormwater management strategies.
  • Produce detailed civil drawings and documentation using established standards, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct engineering analyses for earthwork, drainage, pavement design, and utility sizing.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for permitting and coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies to secure approvals.
  • Refine technical specifications for site construction activities to reflect project-specific requirements.
  • Support construction administration through site observations, submittal reviews, and change order evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an EAC-ABET accredited program.
  • 5–8 years of professional experience focused on site development for institutional or commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSLAMM/MIDS, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated skill in civil calculations and design methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience engaging clients and officials.
  • Capacity to manage multiple assignments and deliver accurate work under deadline pressure.

Preferred Credentials

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid model, with team collaboration in the office three days per week in either Milwaukee or Minneapolis. The culture emphasizes curiosity, empathy, and flexibility, supporting both individual growth and collective success.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $89,000 to $127,300, based on experience.
