Cambridge Healthcare Research (CHR) is hiring a Life Sciences Senior Research Analyst, Remote UK based, working US Hours

Responsibilities

  • Conducting high-quality desk-based secondary research
  • Summarising, analysing and explaining findings instantly and directly to clients
  • Identifying and accessing relevant data sources, including monitoring news and social media, searching specialist pipeline, trial and market access databases
  • Covering investor/earnings calls, for insights on changes to the competitive landscape, to update and inform changes to your assigned projects
  • Developing expert-level understanding on therapeutic areas to curate background material
  • Gathering and analysing research to prepare time-sensitive notifications on relevant developments within a therapeutic area
  • Contributing and developing content as part of PowerPoint reports for clients which are concise and easy-to-navigate, covering key findings to support project deliverables
  • Establishing baseline knowledge of the key intelligence topic to support the development of primary research guides
  • Creating or proposing robust research plans, including key milestones and deliverables, to support the successful delivery of client projects
  • Supporting, and where required, leading activities relating to in-person conferences attended by consulting colleagues, through contributing to the creation of pre- and post-conference materials
  • Supporting business development through researching and developing analyses to support proposals for new client work
  • Attending internal meetings to discuss project progress and external meetings with US-based clients to directly provide real-time analysis and explanation of research findings
  • Peer reviewing work and coaching and supporting junior colleagues, to ensure are of the highest quality
  • Using expert knowledge and keeping abreast of developments to both leverage existing data sources and recommend better sources to enhance the quality of research outputs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in life sciences
  • Previous experience in a similar role conducting scientific research and insight generation
  • 2-3 years of developed capabilities and skills
  • Secondary research skills to identify appropriate data sources and information
  • Analytical skills to convert gathered research into key outputs
  • Critical thinking to use appropriate judgement in a variety of situations
  • Attention to detail to ensure one’s own and others’ outputs are accurate
  • Growth mindset with an openness to accepting and acting on constructive feedback
  • Proactivity and using initiative to deliver beyond expectations
  • Motivation to develop specialist expertise relevant to allocated projects and the role [e.g. therapeutic areas, data sources, etc.]
  • Ability to work independently both remotely and outside of colleagues’ normal working hours
  • IT skills across the Microsoft suite [especially Excel and PowerPoint] and databases
  • Planning, organising and prioritisation skills to successfully create research plans, complete deliverables within a fast-paced reactive environment and achieve milestones in a timely/punctual manner
  • Written and verbal communication skills to develop impactful and user-friendly client-ready materials and collaborate effectively with others
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with clients professionally and explain technical analyses in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to support the development of junior colleagues
