Easterseals Midwest is looking for a Licensed Therapist to provide compassionate, effective therapy. You will utilize best practices and evidence-based interventions to support children and adults, helping them achieve their behavioral health goals.
What You'll Do
- Assess behavioral health needs to develop therapy treatment goals at least every 180 days.
- Administer screeners and standardized testing based on clinical need.
- Schedule therapy sessions and obtain required consents for treatment.
- Perform chart reviews to ensure assessments and treatment plans are current.
- Develop treatment team recommendations for follow-up support and services.
- Provide substance use treatment and recovery assessment and therapy (for Addiction Counselors).
- Maintain clinical records in a timely manner according to standards.
- Provide effective crisis assessment and intervention, including arranging for emergency psychiatric care.
- Assess and diagnose using ICD-10, DC 0-5 for young children, and DSM-5-TR for children and adults.
- Meet requirements of established productivity standards.
- Complete progress notes using appropriate billing codes and write comprehensive reports.
- Participate in additional training to further clinical skills (Therapist II).
- Conduct training and mentor newer therapists (Therapist III).
- Take referrals for commercial/self-pay population (Therapist III).
- Participate in ongoing professional development and meetings.
- Maintain comprehensive communication within the agency, with members, and with external agencies.
- Model professional standards and ethics in accordance with our Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field eligible for licensure by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health.
- Two years related experience (BHT) or Associate license in social work, counseling, marriage and family, or substance abuse recognized by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BHP).
- Therapist II: Permanent associate level licensure with AZBBHE.
- Therapist III: Permanent independent level licensure with AZBBHE.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two minor moving violations or one accident within the past three years.
- Three years of driving experience.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Satisfactorily completed Competency Checklist within 6 months of hire.
- Strong clinical knowledge of development across the life span and best practices for diverse populations with trauma backgrounds.
- Extensive knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and ADHS policies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the current DSM and relevant diagnoses.
- Ability to accurately read, record, and interpret assessments, measures, and diagnostic criteria.
- Demonstrated clinical competency in accordance with position standards.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with well-developed problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organization, time management, project management, and multitasking skills.
- Skill in using business software and electronic health records.
- Knowledge of cultural differences and service implications.
- Knowledge of the behavioral health system in Arizona.
- Maintains a professional appearance, communication, and actions.
- Possesses a high level of computer proficiency.
