The Facility Compliance Consultant I is responsible for evaluating Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) to ensure adherence to federal Medicaid program requirements. This position conducts routine recertification assessments, follow-up reviews, and investigations into public complaints to protect the well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site evaluations of ICF/IID facilities to verify compliance with federal standards
- Conduct follow-up inspections to confirm corrective actions have been implemented
- Investigate allegations or complaints from the public regarding facility conditions or care practices
- Document findings in written reports with accuracy and clarity
- Engage with facility staff, residents, and community members to gather information
- Communicate regulatory expectations and compliance outcomes effectively
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in social work from an accredited institution and at least one year of relevant experience in a health-related field involving surveying, clinical work, or administration. Alternatives include a bachelor’s degree in social work plus three years of experience, or a generalist degree in a health, human services, or education field with three years of applicable experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered. All degrees must be from accredited programs.

Work Environment
This is an onsite position based in North Carolina, requiring regular travel to facilities across the state. The role supports public accountability and promotes the health and safety of vulnerable populations through rigorous, fair, and transparent evaluation processes.
