J.S. Held LLC is looking for a Legal Nurse Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will analyze intricate medical claims and produce expert reports for legal matters. You will leverage your medical expertise to support clients in high-stakes situations while also contributing to business development.
What You'll Do
- Maintain competency through ongoing education in medical, chiropractic, and pharmaceutical practices.
- Produce professional, clear, concise, and grammatically correct reports.
- Handle large and medically complex files, creating chronologies and in-depth analyses.
- Perform medical research related to case issues and standards of care.
- Analyze and complete general liability reviews, generating written reports in all required formats.
- Generate work product that requires minimal revision.
- Review and analyze simple to moderately complex general liability files.
- Perform duties consistently and meet all assignment deadlines.
- Work independently and manage time and assignments effectively.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor of Nursing degree or an associate nursing degree with a bachelor’s degree.
- An active, non-restrictive RN license.
- 10+ years of acute care experience; orthopedics, trauma, ICU, neurosurgery, or ED is preferred.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building teams, developing services, and growing a business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, file sharing/email programs, and video conferencing tools like Zoom or Teams.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written communication and research skills.
- Strong critical thinking and meticulous organizational and time management skills.
- High motivation and self-reliance, with the ability to function both independently and collaboratively.
Nice to Have
- Legal Nurse Certification (AALNC) or an equivalent LNC certification.
