About the Role

C220 Alcon Pharmaceuticals Ltd is hiring a Key Account Manager for Independent Customers. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing key customers locally, fostering relationships, and achieving sales targets. You will build meaningful connections with key partners, understand customer challenges, and find solutions to improve patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Manage key accounts at a local level, usually overseeing a small team or specific account(s)/relationships.
  • Build strong and enduring relationships with Alcon Independent Customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within accounts, understanding customer challenges and identifying solutions to enhance patient care.
  • Drive sales, promotion, and development in designated accounts to reach commercial goals.
  • Establish and develop long-term relationships with key customers by acquiring a thorough understanding of their needs and requirements.
  • Expand relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their needs and objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of strategies and individual tactical plans, providing strategic input on analysis, future potential, and key programs required for the accounts.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, guiding initiatives targeting specific accounts.
  • Analyze the market situation, including competitive intelligence activities on key accounts and competitors.
  • Organize customer events and other programs independently or with the marketing/medical department, in line with agreed business tactical plans.
  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping, including segmentation and profiling, and provide accurate and timely data for the Alcon Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Drive the sales operations plan and achieve agreed sales and broader performance targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in commercial roles (key account management, sales, trade marketing).
  • Proven ability to deliver strong Joint Business Plans leading to sales and market share growth.
  • Ability to use persuasion/influencing tactics to achieve business objectives.
  • Proven experience of delivering added value campaigns with demonstrable ROI.
  • Experience of cross-functional working.
  • Proven experience in developing and establishing successful key relationships and delivering excellent standards of customer service.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of the UK Optical market.
  • University degree qualification or equivalent in Business Management, Economics, Marketing or a related field.
  • Any other European language.
