At Continental, we are looking for a Key Account Manager - Bicycle Tires to drive profitable growth in the wholesale channel. This remote position covers Central America, South America, and California, focusing on engaging bicycle wholesalers to increase market share and enhance product positioning.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage strategic sales, marketing, and operational initiatives to support bicycle tire sales.
- Collaborate with senior management to formulate the vision and strategy for the wholesale channel.
- Ensure all P&L costs align with overall objectives for assigned accounts.
- Research and prepare detailed business overviews of new opportunities, including profitability, competitive, and market analysis.
- Act as a Business Consultant externally, conducting profitability analysis, articulating value propositions, and managing opportunities to grow revenue and share.
- Administer support for existing accounts, monitoring processes like marketing program participation, credit management, and returns.
- Coordinate inventory and production planning to meet forecast and unit objectives per key account.
- Work with internal support groups to maximize inventory turns and customer fill rates to achieve profit objectives.
- Control expenses and actively develop monthly and yearly Sales Forecasts.
- Recommend innovative changes to retain current business and drive new growth.
- Provide Market Intelligence by gathering competitive information to analyze and improve price positioning.
- Work with Marketing & Management to develop effective product/service and merchandising support.
- Assist in marketing efforts targeting bicycle retailers in Mountain, Road, Gravel, and Urban segments.
- Liaise with Marketing on sales materials, communications, trade show logistics, and disseminating segment-specific information.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related professional experience OR 6+ years of related professional experience without a degree.
- 2+ years of Bicycle Industry experience.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, domestically and internationally.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs for bicycle event setup.
- Functional knowledge of sales and operations principles and standard methodologies.
- Capable of handling a diverse workload, thinking globally and acting locally, and building a support network across the organization.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to present ideas to a variety of audiences.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
