Farmers Insurance is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Detroit-area staff counsel team. In this role, you will represent clients across all areas of insurance defense, managing low-complexity cases from initial intake through resolution, with a focus on bodily injury/uninsured motorist (BI/UM) and personal injury protection (PIP) matters.

What You'll Do

Litigate cases with low complexity and exposure, managing all phases from intake through trial and/or settlement.
Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
Attend hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Proactively inform leadership of case handling opportunities and challenges.
Consult with the Claims Department regarding the legal aspects of files.
May act as second chair or handle trials in cases with minimal complexity and exposure.
May provide support to senior attorneys on more complex cases and receive developmental assignments of moderate complexity.

What We're Looking For

Licensed to practice law in applicable state(s) upon hire.

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree.
Experience in civil litigation and/or personal/bodily injury law.
