Dyno Nobel is hiring an Instrument and Controls Technician

Southern Cross Fertilisers (IncitecPivot) is hiring an Instrument and Controls Technician to join our team in Louisiana, Missouri. This role is central to maintaining and optimizing our DeltaV control systems and industrial automation within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform firmware updates and lifecycle management for DeltaV control system hardware.
• Support legacy system maintenance and upgrade planning.
• Perform operating system upgrades, service packs, patches, and fixes.
• Maintain virus protection, system security updates, network security, and user management.
• Maintain control system configuration libraries and standards.
• Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems, supporting alarm rationalization and system reliability.
• Develop and maintain control loop functional specifications.
• Prepare control strategy documentation and loop drawings using SAMA diagrams or logic block diagrams.
• Monitor and improve control loop performance, utilizing tools like Emerson Insight.
• Partner with E&I technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs.
• Use monitoring tools such as ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtime.

What We're Looking For

• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related field OR 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment.
• Experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC systems.
• Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation ControlLogix.
• Experience configuring HMI systems.
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511).
• Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases.
• Knowledge of industrial networking.
