Role Overview
As a Facilities Specialist, you will oversee the physical condition and operational efficiency of restaurants in the San Antonio region. Your work ensures that all facility systems—such as cooking equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration—function safely and reliably. You'll support company-wide goals around sustainability, safety, and facility excellence through hands-on maintenance, staff training, and strategic coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site visits to assess and maintain facility performance and safety standards
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules tailored to each location
- Respond to equipment failures or safety concerns with clear, effective corrective actions
- Train restaurant teams on proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures
- Ensure consistent adherence to facility protocols across all locations
- Deliver targeted training sessions, either one-on-one or in groups, to improve technical knowledge
- Report detailed findings to leadership, highlighting strengths and improvement areas
- Identify recurring issues that increase repair or capital costs and recommend solutions
- Support accurate recordkeeping for facility maintenance and repairs
- Perform emergency and scheduled repairs on building systems and equipment
- Lead facility walkthroughs for new locations at key milestones with contractors and operations staff
- Act as the main contact between restaurants, landlords, vendors, and contractors for repair coordination
- Assist in evaluating and escalating facility-related issues when necessary
- Represent facilities in management meetings and relay key updates to regional leadership
- Support development initiatives by providing field insights and feedback
- Report contractor performance issues on repair or reinvestment projects
- Follow established guidelines for facility development and improvement projects
- Take on additional tasks as needed to support project success or resolve operational challenges
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, commercial kitchen equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration
- Familiarity with safety codes and regulatory requirements for commercial facilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities
- Clear, patient communication skills for training and problem-solving with diverse teams
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record for local travel
- Adherence to all legal driving standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with at least two years of formal or informal training in facility maintenance
Preferred
- Background in restaurant equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair
Compensation and Benefits
