Galápagos Conservancy is hiring an Institutional Giving Officer to build and strengthen our institutional funding program for the conservation and restoration of the Galápagos Islands. As the organization’s only dedicated institutional fundraising role, you will be pivotal in securing support from foundations, corporate partners, and grant-making agencies.
What You'll Do
- Conduct research to identify foundations, corporate giving programs, and institutional funders aligned with our mission.
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of institutional prospects, tracking opportunities and deadlines.
- Draft letters of inquiry, grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation for institutional funders.
- Work with program staff, finance, and external partners to gather accurate data, outcomes, and narratives.
- Ensure all submissions comply with funder guidelines and internal review processes.
- Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar to meet all deadlines for LOIs, proposals, and reports.
- Serve as a liaison between Programs, Finance, Communications, and the VP of Advancement to source timely information.
- Manage documentation and tracking of institutional grants, including award letters, deliverables, and renewals.
- Ensure the donor database/CRM is updated with institutional funder records, interactions, and outcomes.
- Support funder stewardship by preparing customized donor reports, site-visit briefings, and impact updates.
- Craft compelling funder narratives and visual content with Communications and Programs teams.
- Contribute to institutional fundraising strategy, assisting in setting goals and reviewing performance.
- Prepare senior leadership with briefing materials and talking points for funder engagements.
- Identify conferences and key moments to build new relationships with funders.
What We're Looking For
- Proactive, detail-oriented approach to building and managing an institutional funding program.
- Experience conducting prospect research for foundations and corporate giving programs.
- Demonstrated skill in writing successful grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting budgets.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments (Programs, Finance, Leadership) to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain a grant calendar and ensure timely submissions.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience managing grant documentation, tracking deliverables, and ensuring compliance.
- Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems for tracking funder interactions.
- Commitment to the mission of science-based conservation.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000
Work Mode
This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States, with a preference for those in the Washington, DC area.
