Illumina, Inc. is hiring an Inside Sales Representative - LATAM Emerging Markets

About the Role

Illumina is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our Latin America Emerging Markets team. In this role, you will be responsible for positioning and selling our genomics products professionally to drive growth in a designated region. You will engage customers, provide tailored solutions, and collaborate with internal and field-based sales team members.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a territory that can include the following countries: CAMCAR and Mexico.
  • Develop strong relationships with our channel partners and territory managers.
  • Establish and execute strategies for acquiring new customers and growing existing accounts to exceed revenue goals.
  • Sell the full Illumina portfolio, including Consumables, Instrumentation (Cap Ex), and Professional Services.
  • Make outbound contact to existing and prospective customers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Take an analytical approach to execute optimal solutions for opportunities.
  • Present versatile solutions during customer negotiations to establish mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Learn and adapt from experiences to become more effective in sales scenarios.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.
  • Manage customer relationships post-sale to develop long-term business partnerships.

What We're Looking For

  • Fluent in English & Spanish.
  • A strong foundation in Genetics and Molecular Biology to understand diverse customer applications.
  • Typically 2+ years of experience in a Life Science laboratory, Sales role, or a related customer-facing field.
  • Ability to conduct presentations effectively, professionally, and comfortably to customers, peers, and management.
  • Self-motivated to continue learning beyond initial onboarding.
  • A demonstrated desire to collaborate within a team selling environment and a willingness to give and seek feedback.
  • Strong desire to 'win' and build customer relationships.
  • Approaches tasks with urgency and willingness to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Typically a B.A. or B.S., preferably in Biology or Genetics.

Nice to Have

  • Strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts.
  • Preferred knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Biology or Genetics.

Team & Environment

You will partner closely with other internal and field-based members of the sales team.

Work Mode

This is a local-country role based in Mexico or Colombia.
