About the Role

Illumina, Inc. is looking for an Inside Sales Representative - Canada to position and sell our products professionally and creatively across the region. You will engage and qualify customers, provide solutions to their business needs, and partner closely with internal and field-based sales team members.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a strong understanding of Illumina’s technology and maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, systems, services, and the competitive landscape.
  • Establish and execute strategies to identify new markets, acquire new customers, and grow existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Monitor market, product, and funding trends and communicate key findings to the team.
  • Generate prospective customers through cold calling and multichannel sales activities and qualify sales leads.
  • Focus on acquiring new customers and retaining and growing an existing installed base.
  • Sell Illumina’s products, systems, and services primarily via telephone or electronic means to customers in your assigned territory.
  • Respond to inbound requests for quotes, product information, and pricing to triage customer needs.
  • May manage large, diverse, complex territories and/or products.
  • Support the field sales team to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Prepare activity and forecast reports as requested.
  • Assist with workshops, conventions, seminar series, and other marketing activities.

What We're Looking For

  • BA/BS in Biology/Genetics
  • 2+ years of experience in a genomics/life science laboratory, sales, or a related field with customer-facing experience.
  • Knowledge of genomics and related applications to understand customer needs and uncover sales potential.
  • Ability to conduct presentations effectively, professionally, and comfortably to customers, peers, and management.
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and detail-oriented individual who approaches tasks with urgency and thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to collaborate within a team selling environment.
  • Adaptable quick learner who can plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues and determine a course of action based on guidelines.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

Nice to Have

  • MS in Biology/Genetics
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
