Optum Tech, part of UnitedHealth Group, is looking for an Infrastructure and Operation Engineer. In this role, you will join the NSX Operational Services team, providing front-line operational support, firewall configuration, and ongoing maintenance for the VMware NSX environment. Our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
What You'll Do
- Perform firewall configurations, including adding, deleting, and modifying rules.
- Serve as the front-line for NSX Engineering via an on-call rotation.
- Handle day-to-day operations for NSX, managing incidents, changes, problem tasks, and monitoring.
- Perform NSX infrastructure maintenance such as rolling reboots, configuration updates, and firewall cleanup.
- Support migration efforts, including gateway cutovers and post-migration cleanup.
- Act as the third-level support for ESX operations.
- Act as the third-level support for vSphere operations.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere.
- 3+ years of Windows Administration experience.
- 3+ years of Linux Administration experience.
- 1+ years of experience with VMware NSX.
- 1+ year of experience with scripting tools like C#, PowerShell, or similar.
- Proven experience working within an ITIL environment.
- A working knowledge of network fundamentals, including LAN/WAN.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with VCF, vRops, and VRNl.
- Hands-on experience with any scripting language such as PowerShell.
- Knowledge of Bash shell, Perl, Python, or C.

Team & Environment
