About the Role

Nordex SE is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll provide expert advice and guidance to our project management teams and external providers on HSE legislation, working collaboratively to identify compliant and sustainable solutions for our UK-wide wind farm projects.

What You'll Do

  • Provide constructive suggestions for process improvements and work on specific improvement actions as part of the Nordex UK/Ireland and corporate HSE teams.
  • Assist the Project Management team in investigating incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, determining and implementing suitable corrective actions.
  • Manage reports and actions via the company system, liaising with authorities as appropriate.
  • Assist Sales and Project Management teams with project-related H&S issues, including advising on contractual requirements, developing site H&S plans, performing joint site inspections and audits, and tracking remedial actions.
  • Assess and audit contractors to ensure suitability for local use.
  • Act as a critical friend to Project Managers and Site Managers.
  • Build strong working relationships with client HSE staff.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to high health, safety, and environmental standards by monitoring works, providing support, and building influential relationships.
  • Drive to close out actions raised via the company's HSE consultation process.
  • Champion communication on HSE matters to employees.
  • Pursue external demonstration of QHSE excellence through awards and presentations.

What We're Looking For

  • A NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 7 IOSH Diploma, or a degree in a related HSE field.
  • Significant HSE-related experience in a high hazard environment.
  • Experience in dealing with customers, meeting their expectations while ensuring Health & Safety is the top priority.
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal HSE context for the UK and Ireland.
  • A balanced approach to risk management.
  • Ability to learn quickly about all aspects of wind farm HSE, including civil engineering, electrical engineering, turbine erection, and the Nordex way of working.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Internal audit experience in line with relevant ISO standards and internal management systems.

Work Mode

This role operates on a hybrid basis and is UK-wide, with a significant current workload across Scotland.
