About the Role

The Hershey Company is seeking an HR Generalist to support our human resources organizational capability at our Robinson, IL location. In this onsite role, you will drive and implement HR initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness, build talent, and lead strategy to impact business performance and key metrics.

What You'll Do

  • Lead on-boarding activities for the hourly and salaried workforce.
  • Support the implementation of talent development and learning efforts to meet organizational needs.
  • Facilitate business performance by utilizing knowledge of the business to influence strategy and decision-making.
  • Contribute to human resource compliance efforts, ensuring consistent enforcement of guidelines and policies in areas like FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
  • Facilitate, recommend, and support consistent business processes and procedures.
  • Overcome obstacles to delivering quality HR services.
  • Leverage and educate others on available technology, shared services, and HR procedures.
  • Support the employee engagement planning process and administration.
  • Ensure positive employee relations through proactive communication, prompt issue resolution, and fair policy administration.
  • Support wage surveys and ensure market-competitive wage recommendations.
  • Support the facilitation of the change management process.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend changes to increase performance and reduce costs through data analysis and trend tracking.
  • Utilize knowledge of business trends to create and implement clear, actionable plans.
  • Track and develop plans to remove obstacles for success.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • 1 year of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to lead projects to completion and adapt to competing demands and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive, positive working relationships.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Ability to facilitate training and learning in large group presentations.
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Competent in Labor/Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Benefits and Compensation, and policy interpretation.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across levels and functions in a matrix organization.
  • Able to make data-driven decisions and develop recommendations to solve problems.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal laws along with practical application.
  • Experience in administering FMLA, affirmative action planning, workers' compensation management, and unemployment.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

This is an onsite position located in Robinson, IL.
