Somafina is looking for an HR Assistant to join our team. This role supports essential HR functions, requiring written and verbal fluency in Spanish. You will help nurture a positive work environment and uphold our commitment to customers and quality.
What You'll Do
- Nurture a positive working environment.
- Answer phones and transfer calls.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing various employee relations programs.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Manage worker compensation claims.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title, and department transfers.
- Assist with employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and PTO.
- Manage time clocks, including setting up new employees, editing time punches, and fixing timecard errors.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Assist in the overall recruitment process, such as posting ads, reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, and the onboarding process.
- Manage and update physical and digital employee files.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Help with various tasks as requested.
- Support and participate in company, department, and safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related customer service experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Written and verbal fluency in Spanish.
