Principal Talent Partner
Role Overview
As a Principal Talent Partner, you will lead full-cycle recruitment for mission-critical positions, including executive leadership, VP-level appointments, and principal engineers in deeply technical domains. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that operates at the intersection of strategy, execution, and relationship-building, with direct collaboration across the CEO, founders, and senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end hiring for executive and senior individual contributor roles, from role scoping to offer close
- Partner directly with top leadership to shape search strategies, define role requirements, and evaluate candidate fit
- Deliver a seamless and personalized candidate journey, from initial outreach through onboarding
- Serve as the primary point of contact during final negotiations, managing complex compensation structures, equity discussions, and relocation logistics
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with passive and active senior talent in technical and leadership domains
- Design efficient, rigorous interview processes that reflect organizational standards and candidate expectations
- Translate technical, organizational, and business context into compelling narratives for prospective hires
- Provide real-time market intelligence and candid feedback to leadership on talent trends and hiring dynamics
- Uphold the highest standards of discretion, professionalism, and judgment in all interactions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of in-house or agency recruiting experience, with a focus on senior-level or executive placements
- Proven success sourcing and closing talent in deep tech, hardware, infrastructure, or other highly technical sectors
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage high-stakes offers without third-party support
- Strong emotional intelligence, executive presence, and communication skills
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities in an early-stage environment
- Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and candidate experience
- Ability to clearly articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse candidates
Preferred Experience
- In-house recruiting experience at Series A–C startups
- Recruiting in emerging or niche technical fields
- Experience advising on leveling, scope definition, and compensation frameworks
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law, and includes a competitive salary and incentive stock options. Medical, dental, and vision coverage are provided for employees and dependents from day one. Work Environment
This is an on-site role with locations in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore. Candidates must be available to work in person five days per week. Hybrid or remote arrangements are not offered for this position.
