ICF is hiring a Head Start Early Childhood Specialist to provide training and technical assistance (TTA) that ensures high-quality services and supports progress toward school readiness goals for Head Start and Early Head Start programs. You will engage programs in best practices for children birth to five and promote a culture of continuous learning.
What You'll Do
- Provide TTA to grantees related to school readiness, family engagement, and professional development.
- Provide TTA on selecting and implementing age-appropriate, ongoing child assessment, curriculum, and teaching practices across the birth to five spectrum.
- Assist grantees to improve teacher/child interactions as measured by tools like the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
- Assist grantees to develop skills to aggregate, analyze, and use data from multiple sources.
- Assist grantees to implement a research-based coaching model.
- Assist grantees to develop and implement family engagement practices aligned with the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework.
- Assist grantees to strengthen birth-to-five transition practices and build relationships with schools and community partners.
- Assist grantees to improve collaboration with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), state agencies, and other partners.
- Coordinate TTA with other specialists to ensure effective integration across service areas.
- Maintain regular communication with Regional Office staff on TTA delivery and progress.
- Support emerging Office of Head Start initiatives and priorities.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of a BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education/Development or a related field from an accredited institution.
- If your highest degree is more than ten years old, your resume must show ongoing professional development in early childhood.
- 5+ years experience in programs for children birth to five, including providing technical assistance to teachers, home visitors, providers, coaches, or management.
- 1+ year experience working with infants and toddlers.
- 1+ year of family engagement experience.
- 1+ year experience facilitating group discussions and presenting to diverse audiences.
- 1+ year experience analyzing data and helping programs make data-driven decisions.
- 1+ year experience providing TTA to programs on developing or implementing school readiness goals.
- 1+ year experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing to various audiences.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Head Start programs.
- Direct experience working within a Head Start Program.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $67,020.00 - $113,934.00
Work Mode
This is a remote position. Candidates must be located in Delaware, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia.
