Lead the commercial growth of a global healthcare organization across Africa, with primary focus on Kenya. As Head of Sales, you will shape and execute market entry and expansion strategies to increase access to quality healthcare in high-potential regions. Your leadership will drive new business acquisition, client retention, and distribution growth across key markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies aligned with long-term commercial goals
- Build and manage strategic relationships with brokers, banks, corporate clients, and affinity partners
- Lead the rollout of a Tied Agency model in Kenya, exploring scalable distribution channels
- Manage and mentor a high-performing sales team, balancing in-person presence with remote leadership
- Collaborate with underwriting, operations, marketing, compliance, and product teams to ensure seamless customer and broker experiences
- Monitor competitive dynamics and market trends to adapt strategy and maintain momentum
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks
- Act as a visible representative of the organization across Africa, engaging stakeholders through digital and in-person platforms
Qualifications and Skills
You bring a strong background in senior-level sales leadership, ideally within health insurance or financial services. Insurance professional accreditation is required. You have demonstrated success managing multi-market sales operations and navigating complex regulatory environments.
- Proven experience in designing and executing distribution strategies
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to analyze data and drive performance
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building capabilities
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in English; additional African or European languages are an advantage
- Strategic thinker with the ability to act decisively in fast-moving, high-growth settings
