Lead and grow the European business development function for a prominent CRDMO specializing in oligonucleotides and peptides. This role is central to expanding client relationships and advancing the TIDES platform through strategic outreach and team leadership across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct a team focused on identifying and engaging emerging and established drug discovery companies that align with the TIDES CDMO model.
- Manage and deepen relationships with key accounts, ensuring long-term collaboration and project expansion.
- Represent the organization at industry events, virtual meetings, and conferences to promote service offerings and capture new opportunities.
- Follow up on leads from marketing and sales initiatives, ensuring timely and effective client engagement.
- Enhance visibility of marketing campaigns by coordinating trade show participation, webinar outreach, and seminar attendance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry dynamics, including funding trends, regulatory changes, intellectual property developments, and competitive movements.
- Expand professional networks through platforms like LinkedIn and other industry-relevant channels.
- Develop and execute quarterly business development strategies, track performance metrics, and adapt plans for continuous improvement.
- Travel as needed to meet clients, support team efforts, and represent the company at key events.
- Contribute strategic insights to improve team and individual performance, aligning with broader business goals.
- Record client interactions, leads, and account data in CRM systems to ensure accurate pipeline tracking.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide actionable feedback for future service development.
- Collaborate across internal departments to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a key point of contact during critical business situations, supporting continuity planning and resolution.
- Coordinate international partner visits across global sites, including Europe and China.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or CRO environments with proven leadership experience.
- Advanced scientific understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
- Master of Science degree required; PhD preferred.
- At least five years managing multinational, high-performing teams.
- Self-driven with strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets and managing complex project timelines.
- Ability to navigate complex business environments with sound judgment and initiative.
- Eligibility to work legally in Germany is required.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics is strongly preferred.
