About the Role

Workday is looking for a HCM Consultant - Federal to serve as a seasoned HR expert on US Federal Government implementations of our Human Capital Management solution. You will be responsible for ensuring successful implementation, providing product expertise, configuring the solution, and working directly with clients and partners.

What You'll Do

  • Become an expert in the Workday HCM product suite, focusing on Core HR, Compensation, Benefits, and Recruiting.
  • Become an expert on US Federal specific Workday functionality and configuration best practices.
  • Understand and use Workday's Implementation Methodology on all engagements.
  • Elicit and document customer business requirements.
  • Configure the Workday solution to meet client requirements.
  • Document solutions for the client to reference in the future.
  • Support the client and data conversion teams in converting legacy data into Workday.
  • Support integration teams in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and third party/custom solutions.
  • Assist the client in testing the Workday solution.
  • Transfer Workday system knowledge to the customer to ensure satisfaction in their production environment.
  • Communicate regularly with the project engagement manager regarding forecasting hours, time reporting, project risks, and mitigations.
  • Provide liaison support for key functional discussions with Workday’s Product and Enablement teams.
  • Provide guidance on complex and/or cross-functional workstream solutions in collaboration with Partner functional consultants.
  • Participate in update training and other events to share product skills with other consultants.
  • Engage with other members of the US Federal consulting team and Workday Solutions Enablement to identify areas for improvement and lead internal initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • For Sr Functional Consultant (P4): 6+ years of deployment consulting experience in SAP, Oracle, CGI Momentum, Infor or similar Cloud SaaS/ERP (HCM) product areas.
  • For Principal Functional Consultant (P5): 8+ years of deployment consulting experience in SAP, Oracle, CGI Momentum, Infor or similar Cloud SaaS/ERP (HCM) product areas.
  • Multiple years of HR experience (employee relations, personnel/human resources, talent management, recruiting, etc.).
  • Experience with at least one of the following human resources areas: Talent development, Workforce Management, Employee/Performance management, Career/Succession planning, Recruiting, or Benefits systems/administration.
  • Previous experience with the operations and culture of US Federal entities.
  • Self-motivator who takes initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort with working on long term projects, lasting over 12 months.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities, worker populations and businesses to understand common business practices, challenges and change impacts.
  • Proven track record of accomplishments in identifying efficiencies and opportunities.
  • Successes in completion of projects, activities and/or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Comfortable in a lead role and talking to all levels of management.
  • Open-minded and willing to consider multiple thoughts that differ from their own.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including active listening and tailoring communication style to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Strong industry knowledge, staying abreast of current trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory environments.
  • Comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities.
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Functional and technical experience.
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to travel 50% or more of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Preferred experience and ability to implement these functional areas: Core HR, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting.
  • Experience with multiple HCM applications is a plus.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the US Federal consulting team and Workday Solutions Enablement, reporting to an Engagement Manager.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Primary Location (McLean, VA): $122,800 USD - $184,200 USD.
  • Additional US Locations: $111,100 USD - $197,300 USD.
  • Equity: May be eligible for annual refresh stock grants.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid role. Primary location is USA.VA.McLean (Tyson's Corner). The position is also open to candidates in Additional US Locations.
