Company is looking for a Grid Automation (GA) Contracts Manager to take overall responsibility for all project contractual activities from handover through completion. In this role, you will manage contracts, claims, variations, and insurances, lead customer negotiations, and optimize financial results for site activities.
What You'll Do
- Assume responsibility for all project contractual activities from Hand Over from ITO until all relevant contractual obligations are completed, drafting important contractual correspondence.
- Analyze contracts and prepare the Project Contract Commercial Plan.
- Identify Customer/Consortium and other third-party obligations and develop and implement the Project Contract Commercial Plan, including Project Claim Strategy.
- Liaise with Project Planning Manager to ensure Contract Programme and appropriate schedules for customer and subcontracts are produced and maintained to support Project Claim Strategy using appropriate methods of delay analysis.
- Ensure proper notices are given in line with contract requirements.
- Manage claims to/from customers and consortium partners/suppliers.
- Manage customer Variation Requests/Orders.
- Manage Project Insurances, including submission, monitoring, and settlement of insurance claims.
- Provide support and guidance to the Project team on general contractual issues.
- Provide Contract Management support in the event of a (potential) dispute.
- Lead customer negotiations, ensuring an acceptable risk profile for GE given the specific scope of supply and deal dynamics.
- Build & operate Risk Review sessions to drive early engagement, strategy development, and approvals.
- Propose and draft the Project Contract Commercial Plan including Project Claim Strategy.
- Provide notices to GE Customers, Consortium Partners, Suppliers and Insurances in consultation with Project Director.
- Escalate any disagreement within the Project regarding contractual issues via line management.
- Ensure that the site portions of all subcontracts are followed and fulfilled to the benefit of GE GA.
- Optimize the financial results of GE GA for site activities contracts.
- Ensure all important site records are adequately maintained.
- Ensure the correct Site process and tools are in place and followed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal, Engineering or related background.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in Contract & Claim Management, Commercial Operations, Risk Mitigation, and/or project management role.
- Proficiency in English, French and Arabic.
- Experience in contract management at project site and excellent contract law know-how in a similar industry.
- Experience in complex negotiations with strong technical understanding.
- Strong communication, leadership skills and strategic mindset.
- Experience in project management with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of electrical transmission or power projects.
- In-depth knowledge of contractual terms and conditions; claim management, schedule analysis and experience in structuring and negotiating contracts to minimize business risk.
