Salesforce, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Manager - Software Engineering to lead a team responsible for Slack Huddles, a feature enabling live audio and video conversations within Slack. You will drive feature execution, make critical product decisions, and manage team processes as a Scrum Master.
What You'll Do
- Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many multi-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers.
- Make critical decisions that attribute to the success of the product.
- Proactively foresee issues and resolve them before they happen.
- Manage daily stand-ups as the Scrum Master for engineering teams.
- Partner with Product Owner to align on objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, and risk.
- Ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources.
- Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
- Maintain high morale and motivate the delivery team to go above and beyond.
- Advocate for technical excellence and help teams make good decisions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
- Participate in multi-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams.
- Occasionally contribute to development tasks such as coding and feature verifications to assist with release commitments.
What We're Looking For
- A related technical degree is required.
- 3+ years of proven track record leading software engineering teams on technically fast paced projects.
- Experience leading large scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or distributed architecture.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and working on a publicly released product.
- Experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers.
- Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies; Scrum Master experience required.
