Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is hiring a Graphic Designer

About the Role

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is looking for a Graphic Designer to join a project in Azerbaijan. You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive corporate visual identity for the Agrarian Services Agency (ASA), creating foundational branding assets that comply with FAO corporate communication guidelines.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct an initial review of ASA's mandate, communication needs, and existing visual materials.
  • Develop a minimum of five original logo design concepts with conceptual explanations.
  • Prepare comprehensive logo variations for different formats and backgrounds.
  • Present concepts, gather feedback, and revise the selected concept through structured rounds.
  • Finalize the approved logo and prepare all required technical file formats.
  • Define logo usage standards, including clear space, sizing, placement, and co-branding rules.
  • Develop a unified corporate visual identity framework based on the approved logo.
  • Define and document primary and secondary color palettes with technical codes.
  • Define typography standards for fonts, formatting, hierarchy, and application.
  • Prepare a comprehensive bilingual Corporate Brandbook.
  • Develop standardized visual templates for corporate stationery and digital communication.
  • Establish technical production specifications for color, resolution, files, and fonts.
  • Produce a short infographic video introducing the ASA Corporate Brandbook.
  • Incorporate feedback from ASA, FAO, LTO, and REU Communication Office.
  • Ensure all outputs comply with FAO corporate communication and visibility guidelines.
  • Create functional and clear templates that convey the product's message.
  • Identify and develop an overall layout suited to the product type.
  • Ensure the layout fits the audience from technical, professional, and cultural standpoints.
  • Use fresh and attractive design in line with related products and FAO's corporate identity.

What We're Looking For

  • University degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Arts, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in graphic design, branding, or visual communication.
  • Limited knowledge of English (Level B).
  • Full proficiency of Azerbaijani.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with FAO or UN agencies and knowledge of their branding and visibility guidelines.

Technical Stack

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Other relevant design software

Team & Environment

You will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative (FAOR), with programmatic guidance from the Assistant FAO Representative (AFAOR), and technical guidance from the Lead Technical Officer (LTO) and REU Communication Office. You will work in close coordination with the Agrarian Services Agency (ASA) and the National Project Coordinator, reporting to the Assistant FAO Representative (AFAOR).

Work Mode

This position is based locally within Azerbaijan.
