About the Role

RTX is hiring a Global Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Manager to serve as a key leader within the oneRTX Distributed Products organization. The successful candidate will develop and execute sourcing strategies for bearing commodities across our global aerospace and defense business, leveraging deep supply chain expertise to optimize cost, quality, and reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for bearing commodities, including supplier consolidation, transitions, long-term agreements, and engineering alignment.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through spend analysis, market assessments, and volume aggregation.
  • Draft and manage RFQs, analyze results, build business cases, and develop new suppliers to optimize the supply base.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for bearings, staying informed on market trends, supply base dynamics, and industry innovations.
  • Build and validate embedded data sets to support decision-making and analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier operations.
  • Lead supplier selection processes, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for proposals and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to advocate for and implement recommended sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with regulatory (FAR/DFAR) and corporate requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure supplier performance meets RTX’s standards for delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.

What We're Looking For

  • A University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Supply chain experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry with an understanding of aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience negotiating with suppliers with positive outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of mill and distribution channels for raw material commodities.
  • Proven experience in project management, cost savings initiatives, relationship management, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional and/or matrixed teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • A track record of delivering measurable results in supply chain operations.

You will operate within a matrixed team structure, collaborating across RTX's global aerospace and defense operations.
