EY is supporting a luxury retail company through a transition period, and we are looking for a skilled financial professional to ensure stability and continuity. In this role, you will work independently as a subcontractor, providing critical financial support across reporting, forecasting, and analysis activities within a manual, template-heavy environment.
What You'll Do
- Support the close cycle by preparing and providing schedules/data to Accounting/Shared Services (e.g., accruals, provisions support)
- Support inventory and gross margin close activities, including analyses, reserve / stock depreciation inputs, and reconciliation support
- Prepare and quality-check management reporting packs and commentary (variance vs budget/forecast/prior year)
- Support balance sheet and cash flow analysis via supporting schedules and reconciliations (as required for management reporting and HQ requests)
- Perform or support reconciliations across multiple inventory-related data sources (e.g., stock on hand vs stock flow), identifying and resolving mismatches
- Document issues/gaps and coordinate with HQ when logic/definitions are HQ-owned and require HQ input
- Identify recurring reconciliation breakpoints and propose pragmatic control checks to reduce rework and improve reliability
- Collect and review budget/forecast inputs from internal stakeholders; support consolidation into P&L
- Support forecasting and analysis of gross margin and inventory
- Prepare budget/forecast decks and supporting analysis for management discussions (in coordination with the team)
- Respond to frequent, time-sensitive ad hoc analysis requests, including HQ-driven inquiries with short turnaround
- Manage and maintain multiple reporting/analysis templates (standardized and ad hoc), reducing “rebuild from scratch” effort through disciplined file management, version control, and structured working files (e.g., control tabs, clear assumptions, tie-outs)
